چکیده

The present paper studies the in ltration of an incompressible liquid in an initially dry (or partially dry), deformable spongeous material made of an incompressible constituent in the slugow approximation having in mind the application to some industrial processes involving ow through spongeous materials and, in particular, some composite materials manufacturing processes. The resulting initial-boundary value problem is of Stefan type, with suitable interface conditions and evolution equations describing the position of the interfaces delimiting the saturated region within the porous material. Di erent models are then suggested in the saturated region, depending on the importance of the inertial terms and on the constitutive equation for the stress. Comparison of the simulation with known experimental results is satisfactory.

Multiscale Multiphysic Mixed Geomechanical Model for Deformable Porous Media Considering the Effects of Surrounding Area

Porous media of hydro-carbon reservoirs is influenced from several scales. Effective scales of fluid phases and solid phase are different. To reduce calculations in simulating porous hydro-carbon reservoirs, each physical phenomenon should be assisted in the range of its effective scale. The simulating with fine scale in a multiple physics hydro-carbon media exceeds the current computational ca...

[Article] Infiltration Condition and Mouldability Diagram in Resin Injection Moulding

This paper deals with the modelling of injection moulding processes taking into account the deformability of the preform and the polymerisation of the resin. The coupled flow– deformation problem in the infiltrated and dry region is formulated with the corresponding boundary conditions and with the proper evolution equations determining the motion of the boundaries. An approximated analytical d...

On the Solution of Some Inverse Problems in Infiltration

In this paper we discuss inverse problems in infiltration. We propose an efficient method for identification of model parameters, e.g., soil parameters for unsaturated porous media. Our concept is strongly based on the finite speed of propagation of the wetness front during the infiltration into a dry region. We determine the unknown parameters from the corresponding ODE system arising from the...

Applications of hydraulic properties models on microscopic flow in unsaturated porous media

Several existing equations for solving the non-linear soil-hydraulic properties are introduced and validated to field and laboratory measured data. Models for non-linear hydraulic properties of unsaturated porous media arise from statistical and mathematical fit through the measured data and they can be expressed in forms of unsaturated permeability versus either pressure head or volumetric moi...

A Review of Mixture Theory for Deformable Porous Media and Applications

Mixture theory provides a continuum framework to model a multi-phase system. The basic assumption is, at any instant of time all phases are present at every material point and momentum and mass balance equations are postulated. This paper reviews the recent developments in mixture theory and focuses on the applications of the theory in particular areas of biomechanics, composite manufacturing a...
